LEVVEL Project Afsluitdijk

The Afsluitdijk, which has been protecting the Netherlands from the force of the water for nearly 90 years, is currently undergoing a major renovation and expansion project to prepare the flood defence system for the future of rising sea levels. Part of the LEVVEL project is the renewal of the existing movement works for the discharge sluices and an increase in the drainage capacity of the new discharge sluices. Metaltop supplies the piston rod coatings for all hydraulic piston rods in this project, which will provide corrosion and wear protection for decades to come and ensure the operational reliability of the flood defence.
